EverLast LED high-bays to light NBA arena renovation
By Brianna Crandall, October 2, 2015—Facilities managers with Palace Sports & Entertainment are currently engaged in lighting renovations within the arena complex of The Palace of Auburn Hills, home of the Detroit Pistons NBA (National Basketball Association) team and host to many other blockbuster concerts and events. The renovations are designed to improve the aesthetics and energy efficiency of the nearly 30-year-old facility.
A major feature of "The Palace" is its famous restaurants and luxury suite accommodations. Earlier this month, management worked with Clarus Lighting and Controls, Ray De Steiger Electric, and Shoreview Electric to specify and install state-of-the-art light-emitting diode (LED) light fixtures. Michigan-based manufacturer of energy-efficient LED and induction lighting solutions EverLast Lighting was selected for the project, specifically the company's 150w LED high-bay units.
EverLast's Legend Opaque/White Acrylic Highbay (Series: EL-LED-LG) indoor area lighting system offers state-of-the-art light dispersion and heat-sinking technology, engineered to create ideal beam angles, lower glare and high-target efficiency.
"The innovative LED fixtures were selected because of their classic design, energy-efficient LED package, and overall longevity," a Shoreview Electric spokesperson said. "The system is digitally controllable and will provide a contemporary, glare-free, lighting enhancement to the restaurant space."
"Energy savings compared to alternate technologies that were considered are estimated to be around 60 percent," said Paul Meteer, of Clarus Lighting and Controls, "with additional projected savings tied to the reduced operating cost associated with a 10-year warranty."
EverLast Lighting is a sister company of Full Spectrum Solutions, Inc. The company says its high-bay lighting products have been selected for some of the premier sporting venues in America, including the National Football League's Lambeau Field and Major League Baseball's Progressive Field due to their energy efficiency, light quality and economics.
